Our mentors are Muslim UCSF students and faculty from medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and nursing. People who truly understand our youth and what they care about. A mentor match-up kick-off meeting will be announced in late January 2026.

Workshops Overview
medLIMS workshops give Muslim teens a front-row seat to the world of medicine. Students will train with real equipment, learn life-saving techniques. It’s hands-on, high-impact, and built to inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders.
Learn how to save lives in emergencies with hands-on bleeding control techniques — a must-have skill for future healthcare heroes.
STOP THE BLEED!
These guided sessions teach essential wound closure techniques used in hospitals and clinics.
SUTURING SKILLS
Join us at UCSF’s state-of-the-art Surgical Skills labs to practice robotic surgical techniques.
ROBOTIC SURGERY
Discover how doctors use ultrasound to diagnose and guide treatment. Students will learn to operate real equipment and interpret images.
ULTRASOUND TRAINING
Workshop scheduled for February 15, 2026
Transportation will need to be provided by applicants, volunteers for carpools will be coordinated as we get closer to workshop date. UCSF lab is located at 2001 The Embarcadero, Suite 1270 (near Pier 39 in San Francisco). Arrival and registration 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM. Program will begin promptly at 9:00 AM with Introductions, Ice-Breaker, Panel Discussion, and Workshop. Lunch (provided) will be 12:30 PM -1:30 PM. Please account for travel time to San Francisco as well as time for parking. We are excited to see everyone Inshallah!
